My work exists to bridge that gap: taking overlooked cameras and returning them to reliable, everyday use.

How It Started

My relationship with film photography began young. At around twelve years old, I bought my first camera… a Zenit EM, a heavy, basic SLR and the only thing my pocket money could stretch to. I photographed constantly through my teens, right up until work took over and digital photography gradually replaced film.

Years later, as life slowed down and retirement came into view, I spotted an Olympus Trip 35 for sale online. It looked wonderful in the listing but when it arrived, reality set in. It had clearly been stored for years and needed attention. What followed was a deep dive into learning: reading blogs, joining forums, and absorbing everything I could about how the Trip 35 really works.

Eventually, I found the confidence to open the camera and attempt a repair myself. To my surprise, I got it working again… but the first roll of film was underwhelming. That’s when I realised that repair wasn’t enough. I needed to learn how to properly service the camera.

After doing exactly that, the second roll came back beautifully exposed and sharp… and that moment changed everything. One Trip became two. Two became a small collection. And then it dawned on me: someone else might appreciate using one of these cameras just as much as I did.

I sold one. Then another. And, quietly, a hobby turned into a purpose.
